HOW TO APPLY FOR AT PLACE AT ST PETER’S

 

Starting School

 

If your child was born between 1st September 2016 and 31st August 2017 they will be eligible to start school in the school year beginning September 2021.

All are welcome. There is no need to make an appointment

For admissions to our Reception Class in September 2020, applications should be made via Hampshire County Council (see link below) and a Supplementary Information Form should be completed and forwarded to the school.

The Hampshire County Council site will open for 2020 applications on 1st November 2019. The final ddate for on-time applications is 15th January 2020.

In-Year Applications

 

Admission to other Year Groups further up the school may be possible depending on pupil numbers. Please contact the school for an informal discussion. A Hampshire County Council Application and Supplementary Information Form will still need to be completed, but we are very happy to advise you on this process. How to make an appeal

Appeals are managed by the governing body of the school. Please ask the school for a form.

Appeals timetable

In-year appeals

Appeals for in-year admissions will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

September 2020 entry

For applications made in the normal admission round for Year R (starting school) in September 2020, appeals will follow the timetable below.

 

 

National notification date

18 May 2020 8 June to 17 July 2020 inclusive

 

Please note

(i) Appeals lodged after 18 May will be heard during the above dates if possible or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged. Appeals lodged on or after 12 June may not be heard until the autumn term but no more than 30 school days after the appeal was lodged.

(ii) Appellants will receive at least 10 school days’ notice of the exact date and location of their appeal hearing.

(iii) Following the lodging of an appeal, additional papers may be submitted to the Appeals Service until 10 working days before the hearing. Evidence admitted after this date will be considered by the panel but this may lead to an adjournment and significant delays.

(iv) Decision letters to be sent within 5 school days of hearing
