HOW TO APPLY FOR AT PLACE AT ST PETER’S

 

Starting School

 

If your child was born between 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015 they will be eligible to start school in the school year beginning September 2019.

For admissions to our Reception Class in September 2019, the process will start in Autumn 2018. Open Days will be held on:

Wednesday 3rd October 1.15 - 2.45 pm

Thursday 1st November 9.30 - 11.30 am

Tuesday 6th November 9.30 - 11.30 am

Tuesday 20th November 6 - 7 pm

 

Applications should be made via Hampshire County Council (see link below) and a Supplementary Information Form should be completed and forwarded to the school.

 

The Hampshire County Council site opens on 1st November 2018 and closes on 15th January 2019. This deadline is very strictly enforced. The notification date for on-time applicants is 16th April 2019.

We currently have a space in Year 4 so if you wish to talk about admission to this Year Group please contact the school office. We have a waiting list for other Year Groups so please also contact the school office if you wish your child's name to be added to the waiting list.

In-Year Applications

 

Admission to other Year Groups further up the school may be possible depending on pupil numbers. Please contact the school for an informal discussion. A Hampshire County Council Application Form and Supplementary Information Form will still need to be completed, but we are very happy to advise you on this process.

Appeals are managed by the governing body of the school. Please ask the school for a form.

Appeals timetable

In-year appeals

Appeals for in-year admissions will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

September 2019 entry

For applications made in the normal admission round for Year R (starting school) in September 2019, appeals will follow the timetable below.

Appeals lodged after the deadline will be heard during the above dates if possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

For late applications, appeals will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for appeals being lodged where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

After an appeal has been lodged, appellant’s wishing to submit additional paperwork must ensure that it is received by the panel administrator no later than 10 working days before the hearing. Evidence submitted after this date may not be considered.

The panel's decision

Appellants will usually be sent the outcome of their appeal within 5 school days of the appeal hearing. This may be longer for appeals where there are multiple appellants.
