HOW TO APPLY FOR AT PLACE AT ST PETER’S

 

Starting School

 

If your child was born between 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015 they will be eligible to start school in the school year beginning September 2019.

For admissions to our Reception Class in September 2019, applications should be made via Hampshire County Council (see link below) and a Supplementary Information Form should be completed and forwarded to the school.

 

The Hampshire County Council site opens on 1st November 2018 and closes on 15th January 2019. This deadline is very strictly enforced. The notification date for on-time applicants is 16th April 2019.

In-Year Applications

 

Admission to other Year Groups further up the school may be possible depending on pupil numbers. Please contact the school for an informal discussion. A Hampshire County Council Application Form and Supplementary Information Form will still need to be completed, but we are very happy to advise you on this process.

How to make an appeal

Appeals are managed by the governing body of the school. Please ask the school for a form.

Appeals timetable

In-year appeals

Appeals for in-year admissions will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

September 2019 entry

For applications made in the normal admission round for Year R (starting school) in September 2019, appeals will follow the timetable below.

1. Parents/ carers will be notified by the local authority of the result of their application on Tuesday 16th April 2019 

2. The deadline date for parents lodging an appeal will be Thursday 16 May 2019. 

3. Appeal hearings will be held in the period 6 June to 17 July 2019 inclusive. 

4. Appellants will be given at least 10 school days’ notice of the date and location of the appeal hearing. 

5. Appellants will be able to submit additional evidence to support their appeal up to 6 school days before the hearing. This will enable photocopying and circulation to all parties in advance of the hearing. 

6. Decision letters will be sent to parents / carers within five school days of the hearing. 

7. Appeals lodged after 16 May 2019 will be heard within the period 6 June to 17 July 2019 i

The panel's decision

Appellants will usually be sent the outcome of their appeal within 5 school days of the appeal hearing. This may be longer for appeals where there are multiple appellants.
